As part of my planning I decided it would be useful to do some background research on Ed Sheeran. I did this by going on Ed Sheeran's existing website. By looking on his website it allowed me to see his style, which would help my to create the right style for my music video, advert and digi pack. When looking on his website I can see that it all clearly links well together, creating a style and appearance for Ed Sheeran. It does this by firstly having an image of the album cover, this cover consists of two colours which are a bright orange and black and the colour scheme to the webpage are these colours, linking them together and creating a 'house style'. By consistantly using the two colours it makes it memorable and makes it eye-catching and standout. The font style that is used for all of the text on the webpage is the same that is used on the album cover,again linking all of them together. There is a drawn image of Ed Sheeran on the background to the webpage, this is in the same style and format as the image of Ed Sheeran on the album cover. Like the album cover the format and style to the webpage is very simple and basic. I also feel that this is to represent the kind of artist Ed Sheeran is, as he is portrayed as being a chilled and laid back person. Therefore this is appealing to his target audience as it is representing him as an artist and person. The website allows his fans to do quite a lot and be involved with him, for example it allows them to look at resent news updates, live dates, music videos, contact details for his record label, information on social networking sites, stores to purchase merchandise and the ability to look at the website in different languages. It has been very useful to see Ed Sheeran's website as it has allowed my to see how it is linked with himself,the artist, the way all of his work links together to create his own unique memorable style and to see how he reaches his large fan base.
