Filming Reflection 1

For the planning stage I decided to create a calendar which would allow me to be organised with my work. On the calendar I said that the first day I would start filming would be on the 19th October. Therefore I have met this date as yesterday I went out and began to film. Due to the weather I couldn't begin filming from the start of the song as in this scene it has to be sunny and clear therefore the weather on this day was not suitable or appropriate. So to not waste any time I went to the second location of my video and begun to film there. As soon as I begun filming I loved the location I had picked. I felt the graffiti back drop worked really well and suited the style and genre of both the artist and the song. This made me think about my first location. I felt these two locations didn't work well together, therefore I have made the decision to cut my first location from the song, and just use the second location. However I shall still be using the different location which will be used for the flash back scene. This will therefore still make the video interesting as it will include two places, but makes more sense and they work well together. This part of filming involved the main character, Sam, who was singing the song. With me I brought all of the props that I needed for this specific part, which included; A guitar, a candle, a alcohol bottle and a mobile phone. When filming I would repeat each part 3 or 4 times as this would make the process of editing easier. I felt that my filming went well and I hope I have got a good amount of footage for the first draft of my music video. However due to the bad weather there was little lighting and as time passed it began to get a lot darker making it difficult to shot, therefore we had to stop, on the other hand in one part of my music video a candle is blown out, therefore I needed it to be dark. I recorded roughly for 2 and a half hours and felt this was a good amount of time to spend in order to get enough good useful footage. I felt I was very organised and this helped it run smoothly and efficiently. My next step is edit this on the software to create my first draft.
